Enhancing the lives of childrens and young adults

The Cystic Fibrosis Holiday Fund was established some 20 years ago with the aim of assisting young people with CF to enjoy a holiday or break which they could not otherwise enjoy or afford without our help.   

Due to the risk of cross infection, holidays cannot be taken with others with CF but only with family or friends and our charity facilitates this by providing funds to applicants subject to approval of their applications with medical reports.

We are a national charity providing our service to anyone with CF up to age 25 and many of our applicants come from Scotland where they receive treatment at CF Centres in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen and Dundee and smaller regional clinics.

Among the many applicants we have assisted recently have been:

* An 8 year old girl from Glasgow who enjoyed a family holiday in Tenerife
* A 7 year old girl from West Lothian spent a week at a holiday park in North Wales with her grandparents
* A 4 year old boy from Glasgow had a week’s holiday with his parents in Benidorm
* A 13 year old girl from Ross-Shire enjoyed a 2 week holiday with her grandparents at a holiday park in Somerset.
* A 15 year old girl from Fife was able to go on an educational school trip to the World War 1 battlefields in Flanders
* A 23 year old young woman from Fife enjoyed a weekend break with her mother & sister at a health spa in Perthshire.

All of these and many other applicants depend on the funding provided by CF Holiday Fund and we are extremely grateful to those who kindly & generously donate to our charity.

We are particularly appreciative of the wonderful contributions received due to the fundraising activities of The Sportsman’s Charity which have made so many of our applicant’s wishes come true!
