Thank you to all who contributed to another hugely successful dinner held at Prestonfield on Friday 13th March. The harsh recessionary influences prevented us banking on or counting on a number of our historic support who weren't allowed out to play. Despite this, over 400 stalwarts assembled for this 27th occasion.
All three speakers, Carolyn Stait, former commodore of Faslane, Jim Neilly, Bon Viveur and BBC Sports Commentator and the ever fluent and cerebrally creative Professor David Purdie, who also chaired the speakers, gave inimitable performances.
The 28th Dinner is on 12th March 2010, Calcutta Cup eve, at Prestonfield.
With a healthier state of mind prevailing the 2010 dinner looks like selling out. What we'd call a real bonus. Speakers are Eric Davidson poet and comedian, Chris Martin-Jenkins, journalist, broadcaster and impersonator, and Geoff Millar former test cricketer and now Chair of the English selectors. David Purdie is our official Emeritus Speaker and will fulfill his responsibilities as Honorary Chair of same.
