The Poppyscotland Hearts & Heroes Challenge is a stunning 29-mile, one-day fitness challenge, inviting rugby clubs, the ever competitive element of the corporate sector, the armed services and all others who are up for it, to walk or run for charity over the unspoilt and scenic Southern Upland Way.
The 29-mile route commences at the southern end of St Mary’s Loch, working its way along the stunning Southern Upland Way, culminating at Melrose Rugby Club for a huge party with food, a sensibly subsidised bar, music and dancing!
There are three finishes – bronze (12 miles), silver (21 miles) and gold, so that participants of all levels of fitness and ability can aim for a target that suits them.
Money raised from this event will be used to support the work of Poppyscotland, and Hearts & Balls who respective aims are to support veterans and their families in Scotland, who are affected by a number of issues including financial, physical and psychological problems, and to provide pastoral and financial care to rugby’s seriously injured young people.
