Friday 7th February 2020
Our 2020 dinner was held on the eve of this year's Calcutta Cup match on the 7th of February.
Our MC for the evening was the irrepressible John Inverdale who guided the dinner magnificently. Our opening speaker was the superb Ben Ryan, who recounted the extraordinary path that led to Fiji winning the Olympic gold in Rio for Sevens. To help celebrate the 30th anniversary of Soctland's last Grand Slam we had four of the wining team (Kenny Milne, Gary Armstrong OBE, Craig Armstrong and Scott Hastings) in a fgantastic Q & A session with John Inverdale. The evening was brought to a close by the brilliantly entertaining John Lloyd CBE, creator of Spitting Image and QI amongst others.
We are very grateful to our principal sponsors Carbon Financial Partners and Prestonfield and also to Pentland LandRover, Eden Mill and Vino for all their support.
