The Sportsman’s Charity was founded in 1983 by David MacLean, John Frame and Andrew Cubie who wished to help provide opportunities for others which they themselves, as sportsmen, had enjoyed in all fields.

Having successfully led the Charity for over 25 years they retired from active involvement in early 2010 but their initial and continuing wishes will continue to be followed by the current Board of Directors of the Charity.

Since its beginnings The Sportsman’s Charity has distributed almost £2.5 million to assist individuals and groups in the fields of sport, the disabled and the disadvantaged. Following the principle that we support those who are already supporting themselves in their day-to-day running but where extra funds can make a difference, most of the funds that have been distributed have been in the form of grants to smaller charities and projects. We do also support a small number of larger charities which meet our criteria by accepting auction items to sell on their behalf.

Below is an A-Z list of charities and projects to which we have given support. Please click on a particular letter to locate a good cause.
