The Sportsman's Charity was founded in 1983 by David MacLean and John Frame, who wished to help provide opportunities for others which they themselves, as Sportsmen, had enjoyed in all fields.
The general aim of The Sportsman's Charity is, in partnership with individuals, charities and the corporate sector, to generate funds for charitable purposes. This partnership understands the need to bring value to you, your business or organisation for your involvement as stakeholders in our business.
The mission of The Sportsman's Charity is to make charity-giving a natural and involving experience, by those who can, for those who cannot. We are, to our knowledge, the only charity which acts in partnership with you, to raise funds for your causes.
Ultimately, to achieve happiness for ourselves, we believe we have to work to make the world a better place for others.
Any companies or individuals who have a wish to participate in the charitable sector or social economy require a route. We are one such route.
Few people avoid hurdles. Every family or company, large or small, has people at their core, who are a part of the community. There are children, brothers, sisters, fathers, mothers, friends, some doing well, some not, some feeling well, some not. Their challenges, in whatever shape or size, become everyone's challenge. If not today, then possibly tomorrow.
Raising money and running events involves expertise and inside knowledge, whether for your clients, or staff, for your cause, for your company's cause, for your community's cause or for the family next door's cause.
We are quite good at making money but we have, in the Scottish Community Foundation, a partner who are experts at distributing it - to our or your particular causes.
In short .... We run our own events, which you may choose to attend - see our events page! - or we run your events.
Becoming a supporter of our fixed costs thus releasing an equivalent distribution amount in your personal or company name
Looking at our events and signing up to participate
Talking to us about the benefits deriving from being involved
Talking about an event or fundraiser you want to see happen but don't know where to start
Accepting our help and input on a planned CSR policy which you want but don't yet have
implementing a joint "flow through" fund where you determine the distribution brief - in your name
Inviting your staff to raise funds for their particular causes, while having fun, feeling good and raising your company's image
Ascribing legacies to us to assist in the unique long term work we do.
